Agents and reusable workflows

Start with what your team already knows.

Give an Agent the instructions, knowledge, workflows, and connected tools for a job. Use it from your existing AI client, chat with it in Fermium, or publish it to Slack for your team.

01

Give the work a starting point

Gather the sources that matter for a client, a team, or a part of the business. Existing source permissions still apply.

02

Connect tools with clear rules

Attach compatible MCP tools and choose which actions are allowed, denied, or need approval. Keep reusable workflows alongside the knowledge.

03

Meet your team where it works

Load the Agent in your AI client, use private hosted chat, or configure a Slack deployment with the shared Fermium bot or a dedicated bot identity.

Make it your own

A prompt to get you started.

Connect your AI to Fermium, replace the bracketed details, and bring the source material.

Use [client Agent] and [new brief] to draft the next proposal. Follow our saved writing guidance, cite the sources you use, and publish the result for team review. Propose any useful workflow improvements separately.

What to know

Using Agent context in your own AI client does not require hosted chat. Hosted chat and Slack Agents require model setup and workspace AI credits; Slack also requires an installation and a published deployment. A saved workflow does not run on a schedule by itself. Protected instruction changes and policy-controlled actions go through review.

Questions about agents and reusable workflows

What belongs in an Agent?

Gather the sources, writing guidance, decisions, and workflow instructions that help your team repeat a task. For a client project, that might include the brief, approved terminology, and your proposal recipe. A compatible connected AI tool can use this context when you bring new material to the next task.

Does adding a source give everyone access to it?

Existing source permissions still apply. Organizing material in an Agent does not make restricted documents public. Choose sources the intended team can access, and review the audience of a generated report before sharing it outside that team.

Will a saved workflow run automatically?

A workflow is a reusable set of instructions, not a schedule. Ask your connected agent to run it with the current source material. The agent can propose improvements to protected instructions for a person to review, helping you preserve the team's approach while deciding which changes to keep.
