Terms acceptance

How and when you accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and what happens when they change.

Using Fermium means agreeing to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Acceptance is recorded on your account with the version you accepted.

New accounts

The sign-in page has a checkbox: "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy". You tick it before continuing with Google. The acceptance is carried through the sign-in and recorded the moment the account is created, so there is no second screen.

If you skip the box, the account is still created when Google returns, but you are sent to an acceptance page before you can use the app. You can read both documents from that page.

When the terms change

The terms carry a version, currently 2026-09-15. When Fermium changes the Terms of Service or the Privacy Policy materially, the version is bumped. The next time you open the app you see an interstitial at fermium.app/app/accept asking you to agree to the new version, with links to both documents. Nothing else in the app is reachable until you do.

Agents are not affected by a pending acceptance: MCP calls with a valid token keep working. Only the web app and new OAuth authorizations wait for you.

What is recorded

Your account stores the date and time you accepted and the version string. That is all. There is no separate marketing consent, because Fermium does not send marketing email.

Declining

If you do not agree to a new version, do not continue. You can sign out, and you can ask for your account and data to be deleted; see Deleting your account. Documents you published remain available at their links until they expire or you delete them.

Where to read the current versions

Both pages show their effective date at the top. Questions about them go to hello@fermium.app.
