Collaborative notes
Write shared briefs and decisions together, with visual editing, Markdown source, and saved versions.
Notes give your team a place to write a brief, capture decisions, or keep a guide current. They live alongside your other documents and remain available as Markdown.
Start a note
- Open New → Note in the app. The note opens in its editor.
- Give it a title and start writing. In Write mode, type
/to insert blocks such as headings, lists, and tables. - Check the save status before leaving. Save or Ctrl/Cmd + S saves pending changes.
- Open the document's Access settings and give collaborators Can edit access. Can view lets someone read without changing the note.
A note in a shared root follows that root's access rules. Check its audience before adding private material. See Access and sharing.
Write together
With live collaboration enabled, people with edit access can work in Write mode at the same time. The editor shows who is present and their cursors, and combines their changes in the shared note.
The save indicator distinguishes saved work from pending or offline changes. If your connection drops, reconnect and check that changes have reached the server, or download your draft before leaving. If live collaboration is unavailable, the editor uses a single-editor lease instead.
Keep the Markdown
Choose Markdown to edit the source. In a collaborative note, this opens a snapshot: Apply Markdown shares the changes, while Discard draft returns to live editing. Source edits are checked against the saved version so they do not silently replace newer work. Markdown that the visual editor cannot represent may need to stay in source mode or be simplified before applying.
Use Download Markdown to keep a copy, or Note history to inspect saved versions. Live edits are saved in checkpoints; history is not a record of every individual keystroke.
Bring the note into an Agent's work
Add the note as an Agent source when it belongs in that Agent's context. Sources point to the document, so saved edits stay current and the caller's document permissions still apply.
