App drafts

Create an app draft, edit its source, manage tables, and preview saved pages before app publishing becomes available.

An app draft keeps a tool's source files and data together while you work on it. You can author drafts in the browser or through Fermium's connected AI tools, including on the Free plan.

Available now: creating drafts, saving source files, managing app tables, and previewing saved pages. Not available yet: app publishing, server functions, and scheduled jobs. Publishing ordinary pages and forms is separate and remains available.

Create and preview a draft

  1. In Library, open a folder and choose New → App from the file browser's menu. Give the app a title and create it.
  2. Open Files, edit the source, and save a revision.
  3. Open Preview → Saved draft to inspect the saved page. Save again to preview further changes; unsaved editor changes are not part of the saved preview.
  4. Use Data to manage the app's tables and records.

Saved draft previews can read live app data. They cannot write records, access app secrets, or run server functions while execution is unavailable. Creating a draft does not publish a live application.

Work with your AI tool

Connect Codex, Claude Code, or another MCP client. The same app-authoring operations are available through Fermium's tools.

Try: “Create an app draft for a project request dashboard in [folder]. Add the source files and a requests table, save a revision, and give me a link to the draft in Fermium. Keep it unpublished and don't use server functions.”

Check the result in Files, Data, and Preview before sharing access. An app's Access settings control who can open or edit it in Fermium.

For a published intake flow, combine a page, a form, and a database. The client onboarding workflow is a complete starting point using those available features.
