The web app
A tour of fermium.app/app, where you browse documents, adjust them, and manage the workspace.
The app at fermium.app/app is where your team writes notes, works with Agents,
organizes documents and data, and shares the results. You can also connect your
existing AI tools through MCP.
Layout
- Rail on the far left: Home, Library, Agents, Data, Secrets, Traffic, Audit, Developers and Settings. Fermium operators also see Admin.
- Top bar: a search box that opens the command palette (Ctrl or Cmd plus K), the New menu, the notifications bell, a theme toggle and your account menu.
- Main area: the page you opened from the rail.
- Inspector on the right: opens when you select a document.
On a phone the rail becomes a bottom bar with Home, Library, Agents, Data and Secrets; More holds the rest.
The New menu
New in the top bar offers Note, Page, Code snippet, Upload files, Database & forms and From a workflow. New documents start Restricted: only you can open them until you share them. See Access.
Note opens the note editor, where your team can write together and keep the Markdown. In Library's file browser, New → App creates an app draft with source files, tables, and saved page previews. App publishing and server execution are not available yet.
Home
Home shows:
- Recent work, Starred and Shared with you.
- Connect an agent: tabs for Codex and Claude Code, each with the setup command and a first prompt to try. Cursor and other clients are covered in Other clients.
- Setup: a checklist that starts with Publish your first document, then covers your own domain, your agent's instructions, skills, workflows and publishing a folder as a site.
- Expiring this week: your documents about to expire, each with a Keep button.
Library
Library lists files, pages, sites and apps across your folders and shared spaces, filtered by All, Files or Sites & apps and by owner (All, Mine, Shared with me). The sidebar holds Starred, My documents (your private folders), Shared (General and the shared roots you can open) and Tags.
Opening a folder shows its contents as Grid, List or Page, where Page renders the folder's index page above its contents. A folder's actions include New folder, Publish (turn it into a site) and Access. Tick several documents to Move to…, set Expiry… or Tags…, Add as a source to an agent…, List for team or Delete them together.
Inspector
Select a document to open the inspector. Its tabs:
- Details: icon, title, Edit (opens the browser editor), link, expiry, team listing, folder, tags, alias and files.
- Links: links out and links in. See Links between documents.
- Comments: comments and Ask an agent requests (Team and above).
- Access: Restricted, Anyone with the link or Password, plus grants to a Person, a Group (Team and above) or the Whole workspace, each with Can view, Can comment or Can edit.
- Versions: every version, with Compare and Restore.
- Activity: views of the document, with detail limited by your permissions and plan. See Activity.
Agents
Agents lists My agent, your private memory across the agents you connect, and the Workspace agents you can open. An agent has these tabs:
- Overview: purpose, audience and work awaiting review.
- Knowledge: the agent's files (instructions, skills, workflows, memory), linked sources and included agents.
- Chat: hosted sessions with the agent. See Chat with an Agent.
- Tools: remote MCP servers the agent can call, with an action policy per tool.
- Publish: configure Slack deployments or a website chat with an explicit audience and the knowledge that audience may use.
- Activity: loads, reads and changes, by day.
- Review: proposed edits, memories and tool actions awaiting approval.
Use with MCP connects an external agent to the agent; Settings holds its Access and Export. A workflow is a file at workflows/<name>.md inside an agent; the Workflows page (from the command palette, or New → From a workflow) lists the workflows of every agent you can open.
Data
Data lists your databases. Choose New database, or New → Database & forms. Inside a database the tabs are Table, Charts, Forms, Connections and Activity. To create a form, open the Forms tab and choose New form. See Databases and forms.
Secrets, Traffic and Audit
- Secrets: store credentials with New secret, or collect them from a client with Request information.
- Traffic: views across the files you own or can edit. See Activity.
- Audit: the workspace audit log on Business and above. Members see only events about their own documents.
Notifications
The bell shows unread notifications: agent proposals to review, decisions on your own proposals, access requests and form submissions. Mark all read clears the count.
Developers
Developers has Overview (request, error and webhook charts), Events, API keys, Logs and Webhooks (Business and above). The contracts are in the developer reference.
Settings
- General: workspace name, plan and storage.
- People & teams: members, roles, invites and groups (Team and above).
